Still Relentless....

...Just haven't been blogging much. So sorry to the two people who are actually reading this thing! LOL!

This afternoon, I turned in my recommitment paperwork for the Nike Women's Marathon. I'm going. I will be walking 13.1 miles in memory of Laiken Kenwood, in memory of my momma, in honor of my dear friend, Paula...

And, sadly, I have a new angel on my shoulder...

Jeffrey Cade Wheeler Shouppe was a young man I'd been following after seeing a post on Laiken's CaringBridge site...

I didn't want to click the link on July 18... Somehow I knew... Just fifteen days after he'd turned 13, Wheel earned his angel wings... Another 13-year-old...

I have been really busy this summer... Travel... Races... I haven't trained with the TEAM as much as I'd like...

I actually ran my first 5K, however, on June 14, Flag Day... That was fun and I was proud to have added some running to my repertoire... My friend, George, had brought me some amazing chips from the UK to celebrate my first run...

I walked a 5K with some good friends on July 4...

And since we'd completed the Resident 5K and then some other friends joined us, we decided to walk it a second time as well!

A week later, I would conquer "The Incline" in Manitou Springs, CO... Excellent cross-training... It was a mile of railroad ties that seemed to go straight up...

I was excited to break in my new trail shoes on the Incline... There is a trail called Barr Trail that we used to descend... About four miles... And I ran most of the way...

The following weekend, I helped to finish up a 24-hour Relay for Life with Team Ohana... We took the last three-hour leg of the relay, and completed about 12 miles...

I'm actually staying in town this weekend, and am planning to put in about 12 miles with the TEAM on Saturday.

Still raising funds... Wanna help?
